How to find your label template number

The template number is printed on the front of the label pack, usually as a four- or five-digit code (5160, 22807) in the US or a letter-plus-number code (L7160, J8160) in the UK and Europe. Avery sells the same sheet layout under several numbers for different materials: 8160 is the inkjet version of 5160, and 18160 is the clear version. They all use the same template.

Using another brand? Most packs say “same size as Avery 5160” or similar. Use that Avery number here. See the full label sizes chart for measurements.

Template questions

Are these official Avery templates?

No. They are independent layouts built from Avery’s published sheet dimensions, so designs print in the right place on Avery sheets and on other brands sold as “same size as Avery” equivalents.

My product number is not listed. What do I do?

Check the compatible numbers on each template page: many Avery products share a layout (for example 5160, 8160 and 18160). If yours is still missing, measure one label and its margins and pick the closest size in the label sizes chart.

Do I need Microsoft Word to use a label template?

No. Open any template in the editor above, design your label and print from the browser, or save a PDF.
