What to put on return address labels
- Name (or family name) on the first line
- Street address, including apartment or unit
- City, state and ZIP+4 if you know it
- Optional: a small monogram or icon, kept left of the text
Tips
- The USPS reads the return address from the top-left of the envelope, so keep it to three or four lines.
- Use at least 8 pt text on 5167 labels; smaller than that smudges on inkjet printers.
- Script fonts look lovely on a name line but keep the street and ZIP in a plain font so machines can read them.

Questions
Which Avery label is used for return address labels?
Avery 5160 (1" × 2⅝", 30 per sheet) is the most common, and 5167 (½" × 1¾", 80 per sheet) is the classic small return-address size. 5195 (⅔" × 1¾", 60 per sheet) sits in between.
Can I print one sheet of the same return address?
Yes. Leave the sheet mode on “Same label on every spot” and every position on the sheet gets your design.
Can I use a partly used sheet?
In Sheet & print, tap the first empty label on the sheet diagram and printing starts from that spot.
