LabelStudio is a free online label maker that respects your privacy. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data when you use our service.

Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or user data to our servers.

LabelStudio operates entirely in your web browser using client-side technologies. All your label designs, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device using your browser's IndexedDB storage.

What Data Stays on Your Device

When you use LabelStudio, the following data is stored only on your device:

• Label Designs: All your saved label designs, including text, images, shapes, and layouts
• Design History: Undo/redo history for your current editing session
• Browser Storage: Your designs are saved in IndexedDB, a local storage system built into your web browser

This data:

• ✅ Stays on your device
• ✅ Is never uploaded to our servers
• ✅ Is under your complete control
• ✅ Can be deleted by clearing your browser data

Third-Party Services

LabelStudio uses the following third-party services:

Google Fonts

• Purpose: To provide professional fonts for your label designs
• Data Shared: Your browser requests font files from Google's servers. Google may log your IP address and browser information.
• Privacy Policy: Google Fonts Privacy Policy
• Your Control: You can block font requests using browser extensions if desired. The app will fall back to system fonts.

Vercel Analytics

• Purpose: To understand basic usage patterns and improve the service
• Data Collected: Page views, referrers, device type, and country (anonymized)
• Retention: Aggregated data retained for service improvement
• Privacy Policy: Vercel Analytics Privacy
• Your Control: Analytics respect Do Not Track (DNT) browser settings

Ahrefs Web Analytics

• Purpose: To monitor website traffic and understand how users find our service
• Data Collected: Page views, referrers, search keywords (aggregated and anonymized)
• Retention: Data is stored in accordance with Ahrefs' privacy policy

• Your Control: You can block analytics scripts using browser extensions or ad blockers

What We Don't Do

Your Uploaded Images

When you upload images (logos, photos, graphics) to your label designs:

• Images are processed entirely in your browser
• Images are stored only in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB)
• Images are never uploaded to our servers
• Images remain on your device until you delete them or clear your browser data

Sharing Designs via URL

When you use the "Share" feature to generate a shareable link:

• The design data is encoded in the URL itself (as query parameters)
• No data is sent to or stored on our servers
• Anyone with the link can view and edit the design in their own browser
• The link contains the complete design information

Browser Storage and Data Retention

Your label designs are stored using IndexedDB, a standard browser storage mechanism:

• Storage Location: On your device, managed by your web browser
• Storage Duration: Indefinitely, until you delete it
• Storage Limit: Typically 50MB+ depending on your browser
• How to Delete: Clear your browser data or use the delete function in "My Designs"

Incognito/Private Browsing Mode

If you use LabelStudio in incognito or private browsing mode:

• Your designs will NOT be saved permanently
• Designs will be lost when you close the browser window
• We recommend using normal browsing mode if you want to save your work

Your Rights and Control

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: View all your saved designs in "My Designs"
• Export: Download your designs as PDF or PNG files at any time
• Delete: Remove individual designs or clear all data by clearing browser storage
• Portability: Export your designs and use them anywhere

Children's Privacy

LabelStudio does not knowingly collect any data from children. Since we don't collect any personal information from anyone, our service can be safely used by people of all ages.

No Account Required

LabelStudio does not require user accounts, registration, or login. This means:

• No email addresses collected
• No passwords stored
• No user profiles created
• No personal information requested
