What to put on shipping labels
- Sender (FROM) block, smaller, top-left
- Recipient (SHIP TO) block, larger and bold
- Order number or “Fragile” note if needed
- Carrier postage and tracking barcode (bought separately)
Tips
- This makes address labels for packages; postage itself must be bought from the carrier (USPS, UPS, Royal Mail, etc.) and its label printed from their site.
- Keep the recipient text at 12 pt or larger so sorting staff and scanners can read it.
- Use a half-sheet (5126) or 4" × 6" label if the carrier label also needs to fit on the same box side.

Questions
Does this create prepaid postage?
No. LabelStudio designs the address label. Paid postage and tracking barcodes come from the carrier or a shipping platform.
Can I print on a 4×6 thermal printer?
Yes. Choose the “4 × 6" thermal label” template; the print page is set to 4 × 6 inches. Pick your thermal printer and 100% scale in the print dialog.
What size is a standard shipping label?
4" × 6" is the standard carrier label size. For sheet labels on a home printer, Avery 5163 (4" × 2") and 5164 (4" × 3⅓") are the usual choices.
